Church assists the deaf

Bechem (B/A), Dec. 20, GNA – New Faith Church International with its headquarters at Berekum in the Brong-Ahafo Region has presented food items worth 2.7 million cedis and a cash of 500,000 cedis to the School for the Deaf at Bechem.

The food items include three bags of rice, two bags of maize, 50 tubers of yam, three bunches of plantain, oranges, two boxes of key soap, three boxes of toilet soap and 10 loaves of bread.

Prophet S.A. Asare, the General Overseer of the church, who presented the items, said, “Since God needs a cheerful giver, the church must inculcate in its members the spirit of giving assistance to the needy”.

He said there was the need to help the marginalized to become spiritually and physically strong in society. Nana Osei Tutu Okumasono, the Nkabomhene of the Bechem traditional council who received the items on behalf of the school thanked the church for the donation.

Nana Okumasono, who is also the vice chairman of the board of governors of the school, called on well-meaning Ghanaians and non-governmental organizations to emulate the church’s gesture.
