Christians Urged To Promote Reconciliation

Akyem Oda (E/R), Dec. 25, GNA,- The Very Reverend Robert O. Eshun, the Superintendent Minister of the Akyem Oda Saint Luke Methodist Church on Monday urged Christians to use the goodwill message of Christmas to promote reconciliation among the people.

In a sermon at the St. Luke Methodist Cathedral at Akyem Oda, Rev. Eshun said reconciliation was God’s initiative.

He said, the Christians’ faith from the beginning and down through the ages testified unanimously “Peace of God was the unique gift received through forgiveness”. Rev. Eshun said Christ showed “us the way to perfect peace and reconciliation by forgiving his enemies who crucified him and prayed for them”.

He reminded Christians that they moved a step forward towards world peace when within their individual hearts they forgave one another as Christ had forgiven mankind.

The Superintendent Minister said Christmas was the time to hear the message of love and forgiveness of Christ loud and clear. Forty-five people were later baptised into the church.
