Christians Urged To Pray For Righteous Leader

Space FM,Sunyani – The Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, Mr. Ignatius Baffour Awuah, has asked Christians in the country to pray for a God fearing leader to take over from President J.A. Kufour in 2009. He also appealed to political leaders and parties to avoid defamatory statements that could divide society before, during and after the December polls. Mr. Baffour Awuah, who gave the advice in a post Easter interview with Space FM at the residency, said “political leaders must go about their campaigns decently to ensure that the elections are peaceful free and fair”. He noted that nations with God fearing leaders have prospered and impacted positively on neigbouring countries. “Under the God fearing leadership of president Kufour, Ghana has achieved a lot and that should guide the electorate in choosing the next leader’, he said.

The regional minister also called on Ghanaians to be actively involved in this year’s general Elections scheduled for December 7.

He said this year’s elections should be important to all well- meaning Ghanaians because it is crucial for the way forward and for the economic, social and spiritual survival and development of the country.

Mr. Baffour Awuah also urged the Christian community to pray for a peaceful transition after the elections.
