Christians urged to live by teachings of Christ

Reverend Father Jude Eduafo Ampah, in-charge of St Joseph’s Catholic Church at Apam, has appealed to Christians to live by the teachings of Jesus Christ, to promote truth, unity, peace and justice for development.

The clergyman, who was delivering a sermon at a non-denominational thanksgiving service at Apam on Sunday, expressed worry that truth and justice were missing even in some Churches.

He condemned politics of lies and insults being peddled in the media, especially radio stations, and appealed to journalists to discharge their duties professionally, to assist Ghanaians to make the right choice in elections.

Rev. Fr Ampah said: “Lies and injustice are retarding the progress of the nation,”

He appealed to employers to pay employees the right salaries to enable them to work diligently to increase productivity.

Mr Peter Antwi Boasiako, Gomoa West District Coordinator, said the Assembly organised the service for Christians to thank God for His kindness for the country, and to pray for peaceful elections in December.

Mr Anthony Eyiah-Quansah, Presiding Member of the Assembly, appealed to the youth not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to cause trouble during elections.

He appealed to Ghanaians who had attained 18 years and above and of sound mind to register in the ongoing biometric voters’ registration.**
