Christians urged to ensure peace for development

Accra, Dec 27, GNA- Speaker of Parliament, Mr Peter Ala Adjetey has called on Ghanaians to maintain the peace needed for national development.

Speaking at a Christmas Service at the St Paul’s Anglican Church at La on Thursday, he called on Ghanaians to reflect on the significance of Christmas and to promote the message of the season, which is peace on earth and goodwill towards each other.

Mr Ala Adjetey, who was the Special Guest of Honour, noted that next year would be an election year, during which MPs and aspiring ones would be campaigning to get the mandate of the people. He stressed the need for Ghanaians to speak the truth and to stand by it, saying, “we should reject lies and deceit, which will send us to the place we do not want’.

The Reverend Father Emmanuel Titus Glover, a Priest assisting the Parish in a sermon, called on Christians like Jesus Christ to be born again and standby truth, humility and peace.

Father Titus Glover later led the congregation to say prayers for Mr Ala Adjetey.
