Christians urged to avoid conflicts in the church

Kumasi, Dec.19, GNA – Evangelist Siloam Morgan, a Kumasi-based itinerant preacher on Sunday asked Christians to forgive each other, live in peace with mutual understanding to end the increasing conflicts among themselves. He noted that Christians should live exemplary lives worthy of emulation because society looked up to them as role models and agents of change.

Evangelist Morgan was delivering the sermon at a thanksgiving service to mark the 10th anniversary celebration of True Worshippers Assemblies of God Church at Tafo within the Kumasi Metropolitan Area. The theme for the celebration was “Celebrating the Faithfulness of God”. He enumerated problems encountered by the early Basel and Assemblies of God missionaries during the introduction of Christianity and asked Christians to continue to work harder to win more souls for Jesus Christ.

Evangelist Morgan appealed to the congregation to initiate programmes that would improve the living standards of members and the community. Reverend Elvis Sarpong-Kumankuma, Superintendent Minister of the church, said the church which begun in 1995 with 46 members now had 400 members. Rev. Sarpong-Kumankuma said the church’s vision for the future included establishment of more branches, pursuit of vigorous evangelism, completion of their on-going chapel project and provision of skill training to the youth to make them self-employed.
