Christians urged not to haste in life

Akim Oda (E/R), May 03, GNA – A Deputy Registrar of the Central University College, Rev. Asare Amoah, has urged Christians to exercise a bit of patience in all their undertakings, since God has scheduled everything in life to manifest at the appropriate time.

He was delivering a sermon at the Akim Oda branch of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) on Monday to round off activities marking the 14th anniversary celebrations of the church.

Rev. Amoah who is also a lecturer at the University, reminded Christians that while going through the process of life, obstacles may be placed in their way to frustrate them, but they should “stand firm until victory is won.”

He urged people occupying higher positions to remember that, “no condition is permanent” and therefore there is the need to be circumspect in whatever they do.

In his anniversary message, the resident pastor, Rev. William Kwaku Agyei, called for concerted efforts from churches in the fight against the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

He said considering the alarming rate at which the disease is spreading, it was time churches assist to deepen the knowledge of their congregation and communities on the disease to enable them to make informed decisions and choices.

Rev. Adjei appealed to Christians to learn to forgive one another, saying “if the nation is calling for reconciliation, what about you, Christians.”

Mr Joseph Tawiah, a High Court Registrar in Koforidua, urged Christians to guard against negative tendencies such as corruption, embezzlements and other social vices.

Some members of the church were later honoured for their commitment in serving the church.
