‘Christians should not be attracted to the world’ – Mensah Otabil

This year’s Christmas which fell on a Sunday saw many Churches filled with members who joined families and friends to celebrate the birth of Christ in a special way.

Churches across the country Sunday morning, organized special Christmas services to commemorate the day. The birth of the Savior; Jesus Christ and its significance to Christians was the key theme around which several preachers orated.

At the Christ Temple branch of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) in Accra, congregants celebrated with singing and dancing in appreciation to God for a fruitful and successful year.

Founder and Leader of the church, Pastor Dr. Mensa Otabil addressed the congregation on the theme “a savior who is Christ the Lord”. He reiterated the essence of the birth of Christ and its significance to the world, particularly Christians.

Addressing the congregation, Pastor Otabil advised Christians to reject all activities that will not glorify God and focus on living a life of honor and dignity. According to him, Christians have no business associating themselves with worldly things. He added that every Christian has a mandate to reverence and acknowledge God, and refrain from sin.

He also appealed to members to desist from taking alcohol as they make merry in the festive season.
