Christians rejoice over Jesus’ resurrection

Kumasi, March 27, GNA – Churches in the Kumasi metropolis were on Sunday packed to capacity with Christians clad in white cloths to signify the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In his sermon at the Brotherhood Church at South Suntreso, Primate S.K. Adofo, Head of the Church, admonished political leaders to use the resurrection of Christ as a platform to move away from their entrenched positions in respect of issues with their opponents.

He said Christ resurrection from the death demands of leaders be they political or traditional, to resolve to make concessions with their opponents on issues they previously disagreed on.

Primate Adofo also urged Ghanaians to let the event wash away all traces of vengeance, greed and selfishness from their endeavours and replace it with attributes of genuine affection for one another. “Vengeance belongs to God and not mankind”, he added.

Primate Adofo said even God, who is divine and the creator of man, allowed his son to die to save man from his evil ways, “so should we also be ready to sacrifice our pride and arrogance to link up peacefully with our neighbours”.

Delivering his sermon at the Gospel Revival Church of Christ at Sofoline, Bishop J.N.K. Boateng, Leader of the Church, said the impact of Jesus rising from the death will be better felt or make a positive impact only if Christians are able to use it to win more souls to the faith.

In this regard, he urged Christian faithful not just to use the occasion for attending church services but also going out and reaching to the untapped areas to woe more people to the Christian faith. Bishop Boateng said evangelism especially to the rural and remote areas to fish out and convert more people to the church is what is expected of Christians at this stage of Christ resurrection.
