Christians must resist temptations

Wawase (Ash), March 22, GNA – The Most Reverend Joseph Osei Bonsu, President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Ghana, has admonished Christians to pray incessantly to be able to resist the temptations of the devil. He said as Christians, they would be faced with the problems of this world but if they remained resolute and kept to their faith, they would succeed.

Bishop Osei Bonsu, who is also the Diocesan Bishop of Konongo-Mampong, was delivering a special mass at Wawase in the Afigya-Kwabre District, as part of his annual pastoral visit to the Atimatim parish. Parishioners from Atimatim, Wawase, Maase, Besease and Swedru attended the mass. He advised them to live above reproach and be their brothers’ keep= er and do honest labour.

Bishop Osei Bonsu praised the Atimatim parish for the tremendous increase in membership in the past 15 years and advised the leadership to work hard to expand infrastructure and win more souls for Christ. Mr Kwaku Oppong-Kyekyeku Kaakyire, the District Chief Executive, (DCE) called on the people to appreciate the efforts of the government, which is aimed at accelerating development of the country. He called on the worshippers to pray for peace, prosperity and progress for the country and also contribute effectively towards the development of the district. The DCE advised parents to take good care of their children and enro= l them in schools so that they grow to become useful citizens. Oboadum Kusi Antwi II, Chief of Wawase, said the bishop’s visit wo= uld be a blessing to them.
