Christians mark Good Friday

Accra, April 10, GNA – Christians in Ghana would join their counterparts all over the world on Friday to commemorate Good Friday, the anniversary of suffering, crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ some 2000 years ago. Christians in Ghana will wear black or mourning dresses as they attend special church services to commemorate the day, one of the pillars of Christianity.

Good Friday comes barely a week after Palm Sunday, which marked the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. Many Christians have over the Lent period been fasting, praying and asking for repentance and meditation on the agony and suffering of Jesus Christ on the cross and what this means for their faith. Many Pentecostal Churches are also holding conventions that would end on Easter Monday.
