Christians in Tamale usher in New Year with thanksgiving

Tamale, Jan. 01, GNA – Christians in the Tamale Metropolis on Sunday night and early Monday morning worshipped to usher in the New Year with thanksgiving for last year’s blessings on the nation and prayed that 2007 should be one of peace and prosperity for the country. At the Winners Chapel International, Pastor Honour Olukerede, said 2007 was a significant one with many promises for Christians only they lived by his commandments and learn to forgive and tolerate each other. He urged Christians to rededicate themselves to God and eschew social vices that were impediment to the progress of the nation and Ghanaians.

Pastor Olukerede told members of the Winners Family that, God had declared 2007 as one of glory for them and urged them to take advantage of it and rededicate and position themselves for God’s blessings. The Church held a candle night vigil to usher in the New Year, singing praises and adoration to God for seeing the Nation through 2006 and prayed for God’s guidance and protection for 2007.

Meanwhile some residents in the Metropolis ushered in the New Year at restaurants and bars amidst dancing while children were engaged in throwing knockouts.
