Christians challenged to improve lives of the needy, poor

Sunyani (B/A), Aug. 23, GNA – Apostle James Smith Gyimah, Asokwa Area head of the Church of Pentecost, Ashanti Region, has asked Christians to sacrifice their personal comfort and work hard to improve the lives of the needy and poor in society.

He was speaking at a church service held in honour of Apostle Joseph Albert Mensah, Sunyani Area head of the Church, at the weekend in Sunyani.

Apostle Gyimah noted that Moses in the Bible left all the wealth he could have inherited as the surrogate child of Pharaoh’s daughter in Egypt and led the Israelites out of that country.

He said Apostle Mensah followed the path of Moses and joined the ministry of Christ to reach out to lost souls, the poor and needy in society.

Apostle Mensah worked as a probationary overseer in 1978 at Twifu-Hemang and retired in Sunyani as the Area head this year.

He served at Goaso, Duayaw-Nkwanta and Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region, Mankessim in the Central region, Wa in the Upper West Region, and Madina in the Greater Accra Region.

Apostle Mensah also chaired many boards including Ghana Pentecostal Council in the Brong Ahafo Region.
