Christians celebrate Christmas

Accra, Dec. 25, GNA – Christians in Ghana have on Tuesday joined their counterparts all over the world to celebrate Christmas to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ more than 2,000 years ago. Churches were filled to capacity with both regular and occasional worshippers.
Delivering the sermon at the Taifa Assembly of the Christ Apostolic Church International in Accra, the Reverend Enoch Osafo urged Ghanaians to protect and preserve the environment for future generations. He said adequate measures were needed to ensure environmental protection to preserve water bodies before the country was hit by a catastrophe.
Rev. Osafo asked Christians to be watchful and prayerful, especially in an election year, which would be full of actions, especially on the part of political parties. He also asked Christians to remember the poor during the holidays and extend a helping hand to the needy and the underprivileged. Prayers were said for the nation.
