Christians asked to overcome vindictiveness

The Very Reverend Christopher Nyarko Andam, Superintendent Minister in-charge of the Adum Wesley Cathedral, has advised Ghanaians to accept to forgive those who wrong them and eschew vengeance.

“We cannot achieve our development goals if we remain vindictive for the wrongs committed in the past,” he said, adding that, forgiveness and genuine reconciliation are vital for peace and harmony.

The Very Rev Andam, who was delivering a sermon at a church service to mark the Good Friday, said: “I urge everybody to learn from Jesus Christ who, even at the point of death, forgave those who persecuted Him.”

He said this is the path to travel to achieve real peace and progress in the society.

The Superintendent Minister used the occasion to remind the people of the significance of Christ’s death, saying, the occasion presents an opportunity to reconcile them with God, their neighbours and themselves.

He entreated Christians to renew their faith and work with commitment to spread the word of God.

The Very Rev Andam asks Christians to lead decent and pious lives and refuse to be corrupted.
