Christians asked to discourage bribery

Kasoa, July 4, GNA- Mr Joseph Ashon-Cudjiw, a Veteran Journalist, has observed that the declaration of zero tolerance for corruption by the ruling New Patriotic Party, was not only progressive but conforms to biblical teachings.

He said bribery and corruption was the most dangerous human trait that is disincentive to investors.

Mr Ashon-Cudjiw was speaking on the topic: “Negative Effects Of Bribery In Nation Building”, at the Kpormeitey branch of the Apostolic Church, Ghana, on Sunday at a special church service, to celebrate the Lords Super. He said research on Business in Africa, expressed optimism about the economic and political future of Ghana but indicated that “lower corruption levels” exist in the country.

Mr Ashon-Cudjiw who is also an Elder of the Church expressed the need for corruption to be reduced to the barest level.

He cited some texts in the bible, which cautions Christians against bribery, adding that the practice is even a crime in Ghana. “Deuteronomy Chapter 27 verse 25 says, curse is the one who takes bribe,” stressing “let us all resolve to support the fight against bribery and corruption especially when we are commemorating the Republic Day”.
