Christians advised not to be pre-occupied with positions

Kumasi, Jan 22, GNA – Christians have been advised to be wary of the struggle for positions since such pre-occupation did not help the good cause of the church.

Apostle Johanan I A Idahosa, Principal of the Makers Ministerial College, who made the call, said the struggle for positions was a disincentive to effective church administration and called on church leaders to mete out the appropriate biblical sanctions against members who go wayward.

This, he said, would ensure sanity among Christians and also stem the tide of divisions that had arisen in most churches due to the struggle for positions.

Apostle Idahosa was speaking at the graduation of five students who had undergone a six-month training course in theology at the College in Kumasi on Sunday.

The students, most of who were also aspiring to be Reverend Ministers, were each presented with a certificate, which was jointly issued by the College and the Nehemiah Bible Training Centre in the United Kingdom (UK).

Apostle Idahosa said there was the need for Christians to aspire for spiritual excellence and always be committed to salvaging society from evil deeds.

Church leaders, he said should also serve their members with humility and strive to inculcate good moral values based on biblical principles ii them for the effective propagation of the gospel. The Reverend Kwaku Opoku Sarpong, Head Pastor in-charge of the Apostle Continuation Church International, cautioned the graduands to lead exemplary lives so as to justify the investment made in their training.
