Christians Admonished to Uphold Morality over Prosperity- Pastor Braimah

The founder of Word Redemption ministries pastor Braimah Mohammed, in his church in Wa, the Upper West regional capital over this weekend chided pastors and congregations alike for their over reliance on the doctrine of prosperity. It is an open secret that this is the age of miracles in the Christian calendar since believers’ troop to various places of worship just to experience miracles.
In an uncharacteristic manner of contemporary preachers, the man of God challenged his Christians from turning the church into a place for searching for only their needs. ‘What is the difference between the church of October, 2014 from melcom I don’t see any difference; because people go to melcom to buy bicycle, chairs, shoes and people go to the US embassy to look for Visas. And we come to church not to look for Christ but to look for visa, husband, wife and others’ he added.
The Holy Spirit led man, didn’t mince words when he mentioned, that Christians of today never want to be criticized by preachers because they pay their tithe and also make their offerings. He emphatically stated his resolve to preaching fervently on such thorny issue even if that would deny him of a large congregation.
He didn’t stop at that, but also descended on the men of God who have turned the church into a gold mine. According to him some men of God have turned the church into a business enterprise to enrich themselves. He challenged the basis on which some pastors asked for material things before they anoint people. To him, such a scenario played in the Bible between Jacob and his sons confusion erupted. He appealed to men of God to avail themselves to be led by the Holy Spirit but not earthly desires.
In recent times, the church has come under a barrage of criticisms for overly preaching prosperity to the neglect of morality. He advised all Christians to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteous so that all other things would be added unto them.
