Christianity is not only about singing, prayers and sermons

Agogo (Ash), May 13, GNA – The Right-Reverend Samuel Agyemang-Kwakye, Methodist Bishop of Effiduase, has said indiscipline, corruption, drunkenness, fraud, lesbianism, homosexuality and hatred could erode the gains made over the years if care was not taken to address thsse challenges.

“Christianity is not only about singing, prayers and sermons but relating the gospel to the everyday life of the people in their desire to lead holy lives, develop their skills and God-given talents as well as attending to the under-privileged in the society”, he said Bishop Agyemang-Kwakye was speaking at a thanksgiving service to round-off the 12th synod of the Effiduase Diocese of the Methodist Church at Agogo.

He reminded Christians that Jesus Christ, in spite of His spiritual prowess, humbled Himself and mobilised his followers for productive ventures to benefit them and the poor.

He said there is lack of respect for authority, selfishness, favouritism, tribalism and nepotism all over the society which is not good for nation building.
