Christian Women holds conference

Accra, June 25, GNA- Women have been advised against participating in indecent advertisement in the media, which tend to demean their dignity.

Madam Regina Eva Addae, National Leader of the Christian Women Leadership (CWL), made the call at the opening of a two-day National Women’s Prayer Conference in Accra on Monday. About 300 women drawn from the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Methodist Church of Ghana, the Roman Catholic Church and the Anglican Church were attending the meeting.

Madam Addae expressed regret that advertisements in the media in recent times seems to reduced women to mere commodities. She said dignity of womanhood must be preserved adding that “if the dignity of women is threaten, then the society comes under threat.” Madam Addae said the Group would embark on an educational campaign to sensitise women on the need to protect their dignity. Mrs. Grace Ababio, a member the CWL, called on women to consider themselves as stewards who contributed meaningfully to the management of their homes and national development. 25 June 07
