Christian women caution politicians against war

The Women Ministry of Global Evangelical Church, on Friday cautioned politicians in the country against igniting war.

“For Christ’s sake do not instigate one against the other. Do your work with fear and trembling, knowing that everything you do is for the Lord,” Reverend Edith Adoblosu-Kuhlor, National Coordinator of the Women’s Ministry of the Church, said.

She was speaking at the opening of this year’s Women’s Convention of the Church in Ho, on the theme: “Step up your efforts for divine intervention; Build with a purpose.”

Rev. Adoblosu-Kuhlor noted that Ghana was a place of refuge for other countries and wondered where Ghanaians would go in the event of war in the country.

She advised politicians to use descent language in their campaign, and the media to be circumspect in the discharge of their duties.

Ms Lena Alai, Volta Regional Director of the Department of Women, asked women to pray ceaselessly to God to grant the nation peace in the December polls and for peace among family members.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Edem Kwaku Tettey, Moderator of the Church, commended women for contributing to the development of the church.**
