Adaklu Vodze, (V/R), Dec. 16, GNA – Christian parents have been admonished to break away from lax parenting that has become a major problem in the Ghanaian society.
“We cannot call ourselves Christians if we neglect our parental and societal responsibilities,” Reverend Lawson Dzanku, Chaplain of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church University College said. Rev. Dzanku was speaking in a sermon at the 4th District Anniversary celebration of Kalakpa Line E.P. churches at Adaklu Vodze in the Adaklu Anyigbe District.
It was on the theme; ‘Our Responsibilities – Service to God”. Rev. Dzanku said irresponsible parenting had permeated the Christian fold and “society is suffering”.
He said the phenomena of street children, teenage pregnancy, armed robbery and general indiscipline mirrored the level at which Christian and societal values had been compromised. Rev. Dzanku said Christian parents in particular should be mindful that they would one day give account of their stewardship to God. Presbyter Samuel Deh, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Church advised the youth to be steadfast and refrain from acts that would jeopardize their future.
