Christian organisation trains girls

Dr Edward Ackah-Nyamike, Founder and President of CORD Family International, an inter-denominational Christian organisation, has appealed to the youth to acquire skills.

Speaking at the graduation of 20 fashion designers of Ruack Couture Institute at Sakumono, Dr Ackah-Nyamike said young people should not to idle about but to engage in skills acquisition that would make them fit into the job market.

He told the graduates, who went through a two-year training in free-hand cutting, millinery, designing, modeling and entrepreneurial skills, to go about their duties with a high sense of commitment, zeal and dedication, and let honesty be their guiding principle in their dealings with their customers.

Mrs. Boatemaa-Asiedu said it was gratifying that the students from various religious backgrounds are benefitting from the school’s strong Christian education and discipline.

The Principal, Mrs. Yaa Boatemaa-Asiedu, said Ruack was founded in 1994 with two students and held its maiden graduation two years later for 22 graduates.

She said this year, a Higher National Diploma in Fashion and a special bridal school would be introduced for senior and junior high school graduates.

The Principal said other programmes taking off this year include local and international foods, cake decoration, catering and hospitality, adding that Ruack Fashion Institute would run short courses in floral and interior decorations, make-up, etiquette and grooming.**
