Christian leaders advised to be role models in society

Takoradi, Mar. 22, GNA – Mrs Comfort Harford, Connexional President of the Methodist Women’s Fellowship has called on Christian leaders to exhibit exemplary leadership qualities in their communities for emulation.

She said the attitude and actions of some leaders discourage others from assuming leadership positions while others assume it but use it to intimidate their subordinates.

Mrs Harford was delivering the sermon to climax the second biennial conference of the Sekondi Diocese of the Methodist Church women’s fellowship on the theme: “Effective Leadership” at Takoradi. She said leaders should not be chosen based on their financial well-being but rather on their human relations, communication skills and other attributes that constitute a good leader.

Mrs Harford said though leadership is a difficult task, it commands respect and requires a lot of sacrifices and human feeling to become a great one.

She therefore, reminded Christians that their leaders should motivate the ungodly, disobedient and indiscipline persons to change and adopt a different approach towards life.

Mrs Harford reminded the women that, they perform leadership roles in their respective homes and should strive to be one of the best. Some founding members of the fellowship were later presented with certificates of honour and badges.
