CHRAJ Boss is a disgrace to the NDC; she must resign – Akomea

Former Communications Director of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea has said CHRAJ Boss, Ms. Lauretta Lamptey has overstayed her position and should have been fired long ago.

He opined that, Ms. Lauretta Lamptey is a “big disgrace” to the Mahama-led NDC government after assurances by the president to fight corruption.

“She [Ms. Lauretta Lamptey] is a disgrace to the NDC. She must resign,” he said on Adom FM.

Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Ms. Lauretta Lamptey, has come under the spotlight following allegations she spent $148,500 in 33 months for her rent at the African Union [AU] Village from November, 2011 to August 9, 2014 when she moved out.

She is currently lodging at a hotel and paying the Cedi equivalent of $456.25 per day in the interim, as her official residence is being renovated.

However, the former NPP lawmaker insists that, the NDC must mount pressure on Lauretta Lamptey to resign.

According to him, “The woman is really provoking Ghanaians with such spending. The level of corruption under this government is unbelievable.”
