CHRAG official urges support for children’s issues

Abourso (B/A), Jan. 25, GNA – Mr Kwasi Asante-Boateng, Techiman Municipal Director of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has urged stakeholders to offer support for issues on the development of children.

It is the collective responsibility of the government, parents, communities and children as well to provide quality education to children, which is their right, he said.

Mr Asante-Boateng was addressing final year students of Fountain International School at Techiman on: “The rights of children”, as part of the Commission’s educational tour of the municipality. Parents must ensure to provide essentials as food, shelter, clothing and education to their children, whose best interests must be given priority attention, he said.

Mr Solomon Arthur, senior assistant registrar of the Commission advised students against resorting to violence but to seek redress to their grievances through parent-teacher associations, school management committees or school authorities for redress.

Mr Ben Boateng, Director of the school lauded the efforts of the Commission in the educational programmes in second cycle institutions and expressed the hope that it would be extended to the communities.
