Choral competition for Dormaa Catholic Choristers ends

Nkrankwanta (B/A), Nov. 8, GNA – Two thousand choristers from six Catholic Parishes in the Dormaa area in the Brong Ahafo Region, have ended a four-day choral competition at Nkrankwanta, to fraternize and improve upon their singing skills.

It brought together choirs from Amasu, Wamfie, Wamanafo, Dormaa-Ahenkro, Nsesereso and Nkrankwanta Catholic Parishes. The Catholic Dean for the area, Reverend Father Anthony Asamoah called on the choristers to sing songs to praise God and to influence members of society to follow the teachings of the Bible. Rev Fr. Asamoah called on music directors of the Parishes to encourage the youth to join choirs.

Mr. Michael Akwaboah, Deanery Music Director, said the annual competition had provided a forum for choristers to share their experience.

The contest was on singing of religious as well as patriotic songs to enhance worship and nationalism among choristers.
