Chinese Government donates 1,600 Chinese books to Legon

Accra, Dec. 7, GNA – Mr Gong Jianzhong, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, on Tuesday presented 1,600 assorted Chinese books to the University of Ghana (UG) to enhance the teaching and learning of the Chinese Language. The books are suitable for levels 100 and 200, since the study of the oriental language was introduced in the university two years ago. Mr Gong pledged China’s continuous support and said more donations would be provided when needed.

He said the Chinese Government would encourage students to develop interest in studying the Chinese Language in Ghana. Professor Ernest Aryeetey, Vice Chancellor of UG, who received the books, thanked the Chinese Government for the gesture and promised to ensure that the students utilise them. 7 Dec. 10
