Chinese Acrobats Here On Visit

Accra, Aug 13,- A 20-member Chinese Acrobatic troupe arrived in the country today to undertake a one- week cultural tour. The group, Guangzi artistic troupe, are on a five nation African tour which has already taken them to Tanzania, Zambia and Namibia. They will continue to Equitorial Guinea from Ghana. Mr Zhu Chunagwei, leader of the team, told newsmen that the visit was under the China-Ghana Permanent Commission for Co- operation agreement. He said the group’s performance in Accra, Cape Coast and Kumasi will involve folk dancing, acrobatics and magical displays. Mr Chunagwei expressed his appreciation to the government for the opportunity to perform in the country. Ghana and China have enjoyed a long standing cordial relations since 1957 and hoped that the visit would further improve cooperation between them. They were met on arrival by officials of the National Commission on Culture and the Chinese Embassy in Ghana.
