Children need good parenting for their proper upbringing

Accra, Dec 24, GNA- Dr Dan Afari-Yeboah, a legal practitioner, has stressed the need for good parental care for children to ensure that they are properly brought up.

This, he said, will enable children to occupy key positions in society in future.

Dr Afari-Yeboah said this when he launched a new non-governmental organization (NGO), Action On Child Poverty (AOCP) in Accra on Tuesday. He said steps should be taken to eradicate negative tendencies that might affect the development of children.

Dr Afari-Yeboah, host of the television programme “What Do You Know”, appealed to parents to help their children to unearth their talents.

Mr Moses Dwumfuor-Appiah, Executive Director of NGO, said through education, workshops, seminars, and forums, women groups will be empowered to have access to soft loans to start their own businesses. He said the NGO is committed to the development and growth of children and would co-operate and work with institutions with similar objectives.
