Children asked to be wary of homosexuals

Nsawam (E/R), July 16, GNA – Mrs Akosua Tekyiwa Adu, the Akuapem South District Director of Education, has asked children to be wary of homosexuals who might use gifts to entice them to become their gay partners.

She said such people were only out to sexually exploit children and expose them to sexually transmitted diseases, particularly HIV/AIDS. Mrs Adu was speaking at a one-day workshop on HIV/AIDS for peer educators from junior secondary schools, school guidance and counsellors in the Nsawam-Pakro-Nsaban Circuit of the Akuapem South District.

The Ghana AIDS Commission sponsored the workshop, which was organized by the Youth Assistance Mission, a non-governmental organization based in the district.

Mrs Adu advised the school guidance and counsellors to conduct themselves properly so that they could become role models for children.

Similar workshops had been organized for schools in the Adoagyiri A and B, Djankrom and the Aburi-Kitasi circuits.
