Child Health Promotion Week launched in Amansie West

Manso-Nkwanta (Ash.), May 17, GNA – The first ever child health promotion week has been launched in the Amansie West District. Under it, children aged between 0-5 years are given Vitamin “A” supplementation, immunised against childhood killer diseases and the distribution of mosquito treated bed nets to prevent malaria. Mr Justice T. Sevege, the District Nutrition Officer, told the Ghana News Agency at the start of the programme that all 169 communities in the district would be covered.

He said to achieve this, they had divided the area into seven sub-districts and was hopeful of achieving the 100 percent coverage. Mr Sevege said the major problem they faced was the bad nature of roads in the area that makes it difficult for the health personnel to reach some of the communities. 17 May 05
