Begoro, (E/R) Feb. 11, GNA – Forty-two cases of lack of maintenance of children and spouses topped in 68 cases that were disposed off by the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) in Fanteakwa last year.
The Fanteakwa District Director of CHRAJ, Mr. Frank Djorbua Tetteh, told Ghana News Agency at Begoro on Thursday that a total of 91 cases were brought before the Commission and 23 of them were pending. He said one case on child maintenance was beyond their adjudication and was referred to the Begoro Magistrate Court for trial, while another one on child custody was also referred to the Regional Office of the Commission for adjudication.
He said other cases brought before the Commission were on unfair treatment, spousal abuse, land disputes and inheritance. He complained of lack of office accommodation and means of transport hampering the work of the Commission.
