Chiefs vie to represent Northern Region on Council of State

Tamale, Feb 03, GNA – Four prominent chiefs in the Northern Region and a farmer have submitted their applications to contest elections to represent the region on the Council of State.

The candidates are Naa Professor Sebiyem Nabila, 64, the Paramount Chief of the Wulugu Traditional Area who is a former lecturer of the Department of Geography of the University of Ghana, Naa Thomas Tia Sulemana, 72, Zoalinaa and a former Assistant Director of Information Services Department who is the incumbent member of the Council of State.

The others are Alhaji Ibrahimaha Haruna, 65, the Kempewura and a former Northern Regional Minister, Mr Duloglana Ebenezer Adam, 85, also a traditional ruler and a former Minister in the CPP regime and Mr. Edward Telley, 62, a farmer,

This was made known to the GNA in an interview with Mr Kofi Asomaning, Northern Regional Director of the Electoral Commission in Tamale on Tuesday.
