Jasikan (V/R), Aug. 17, GNA – Mr Paul Avoryi, Jasikan District Police Commander has observed that, the support of chiefs in crime prevention and detection in their various chiefdoms was crucial. He said chiefs, as embodiment of their subjects could help check the growing penchant among the youth to disobey authority. Mr Avoryi was interacting with chiefs and people of some communities in the district to seek cooperation of the public to keep down crime level in the district.
The District Commander has so far visited New-Ayoma, Bowiri-Amanfro, Bowiri-Kyiraihi and Kute.
He expressed regrets at the rising incidents of “scandalous behaviour and the use of illicit drugs among the youth, observing that, if chiefs rallied their people to develop their areas, they could also lead the way to fight petty crime and intolerance among their people. Nana Danquah IV, Adontenhene of Bowiri Traditional Area, appealed the law enforcement agencies to desist from collecting illegal monies from suspects before granting them bail and closing of dockets of cases settled out of the courts.
