Chiefs urged to modify outmoded customs

Feyiase (Ash), Nov 2, GNA- Mr. Samuel Adjei, the Ashanti Regional Director of the Centre for National Culture, has observed that if the nation’s outmoded cultural values were not modified to stand the test of time, their significance towards development would be hampered. He said changing such obsolete values would enable the youth to appreciate the rich cultural heritage of Ghana.

Mr. Adjei made the call when he inaugurated the “Nyame Adehye” Drama Troupe at Feyiase in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District in the Ashanti Region.

He expressed the need for traditional rulers to initiate a discussion on the issue.

Mr. Adjei spoke against the infiltration of foreign cultural values in Ghana.

Mr. Bright Addai-Mununkum, the District Chief Executive, charged the troupe to strive for excellence and desist from immoral acts. 02 Nov. 04
