Chiefs are working for me – Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has praised chiefs in the country for trumpeting his government achievements.

According to the President, his ‘Accounting to the People Tour’ across the country, has largely been successful due to the active participation of chiefs.

President Mahama speaking to Volta Star in the Volta Region as part of his Accounting to the People Tour in the Region, said everywhere he goes chiefs do the work for him before he arrives.

He said the tour, which seeks to outline completed and ongoing projects by government across the country, is having good reception and that he is always happy to see the chiefs outlining government projects to the people and thanking governments for those projects.

“I’m on the Accounting to the People Tour and so normally I would talk about the things we are doing in a particular area and talk about ongoing projects and all that and also interact with the chiefs and know what their needs are. And often by the time I get there, the chiefs are the ones outlining the projects we’ve done and thanking government for it,” the President said.
