Chief sponsors building project for Ejura Police

Ejura (Ash), May 17, GNA – A sub-chief at Ejura, Nana Diasempa Antwi Obugyei II is personally sponsoring the construction of a four-unit flat containing two bedroom each, for the local personnel of the Ghana Police Service at the cost of GH¢60,000.00. He had also donated computers and accessories together with office furniture to the service. The ceremony to mark formal commencement of works on the project was performed at the weekend by Nana Kwaku Sarfo II, the Ejurahene. Nana Obugyei, who is the Krontihene of the town, said the project wou= ld be ready for occupation by December, this year. He said it was his contribution towards helping to create the right environment to motivate the police to work. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Henry Bacho, District Police Commander, said it was a welcoming relief to the personnel of the service= , who are grappling with severe accommodation problem. The two block of houses for the Ejura police was built in 1954 and ha= d since not seen any renovation leading to gaping cracks on the walls, whil= e the roof is leaking badly.

DSP Bacho said Ejura being a thriving commercial town holds some attraction for criminals and it was therefore important to create more sp= ace to allow for the deployment of adequate numbers of police personnel to provide security. the area.
