Chief offers land for project

Amanfopon (C/R), Jan 12, GNA – The Chief of Amanfopon, Nana Owudu Asaku Brempon V, has released a 10-acre land for seedling cultivation as employment for the youth in the community. The chief announced this last Saturday during the inauguration of Amanfopon Development Association (ADASS) based in Accra at a ceremony at Amanfopon.

Nana Brempon commended the Association and pledged to assist members to embark on development projects planned for the community. The chief further appealed to the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Assembly to extend the Town and Country Planning programme to Amanfopon. The executive members of the ADASS included Mr Kwame Nkromah as Chairman, Mr Osae Annor, Vice Chairman and Mr Wilfred Adjartey, secretary.

The others were Miss comfort Opokua, Assistant secretary, Miss Hannah Mensah, treasurer, Mr Kofi Donkoh, organizer and Mr Adu Amoah as chaplain.

In an address the chairman of the ADASS, Mr Nkromah said that the association was constructing the community centre estimated at 124 million cedis in four phases for the community, adding that about 25 per cent of the project had been completed while the third phase has reached roofing level.

The secretary, Mr Wilfred Abjartey in his report said that the association was started with 80 members about four years ago and that they needed the support of the people at home for their development plans.
