Chief of Kofiasua cuts sod for the construction of a storey building for Kofiasua M/A JHS

The Chief of Kofiasua, a community in the Dormaa Central Municipality who doubles as the Twafohene of Dormaa Tradional Council and Kotodwehene, Barima Osei Twumasi Bekoe II has officially commenced the groundbreaking ceremony to initiate the construction of a new storey building specifically designed to enhance the infrastructure of the Kofiasua M/A Junior High School.

During this important occasion, Barima Osei Twumasi Bekoe II emphasized that his foremost aim is focused on the development and enhancement of his community. He asserted that the advancement of any community and nation is significantly reliant on the educational progress of its residents, underscoring that the foundation of education begins at the basic school level, hence he is dedicated to facilitating educational advancement as a crucial component of his leadership and vision for Kofiasua’s future growth and prosperity.

The Dormaa Central Municipal Director of Education, Rev. Father Kingsley Dwamena Asante, during his address at the sod-cutting ceremony, emphasized that numerous components contribute to quality and effective teaching and learning. He highlighted the importance of readiness, particularly concerning the accommodation of learners during study hours.

He stressed that when students do not have a conducive environment for their studies, it becomes challenging for teachers to impart knowledge effectively. He therefore commended the decision of Barima Osei Twumasi Bekoe II to construct a school building for the M/A JHS as a step in the right direction. He, therefore, urged all stakeholders, including Nananom and the entire Kofiasua community, to extend their support, both financially and in kind, to expedite the completion of the building to enhance educational progress within the community.

Barima Efritete Sampong Siaw, Dormaa Mawerehene, reiterated that the world is advanced through education, which integrates classroom knowledge with home knowledge to cultivate individuals who can contribute meaningfully to society.

He praised the Chief of Kofiasua for identifying the challenges faced by his community and for devising effective solutions to address them. He emphasized the importance of focusing on the development and growth of children from the basic school level, equipping them with necessary skills and knowledge to support their educational journey.

He noted that the construction of a school building for junior high school students is a commendable initiative that will significantly enhance the human resource capabilities in Kofiasua, thereby facilitating the progress and development of the entire Kofiasua community in the years to come.
