Chief Justice Torkornoo Files Supreme Court Suit to Halt Removal Proceedings

Ghana’s Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo, has filed a suit at the Supreme Court seeking to stop the ongoing parliamentary inquiry into petitions for her removal from office.

The Chief Justice is asking the apex court to restrain the special committee established to investigate the allegations against her. In the same suit, she is also requesting an order to bar Justices Gabriel Pwamang and Samuel Asiedu from presiding over the proceedings of the Committee of Inquiry.
