Chief Finance Officer of Gold Fields Ghana dies

Accra, Aug. 12, GNA – The management of Gold Fields Ghana, operators of Tarkwa and Damang gold mines, on Saturday reported the death of Mr George Mark, Chief Finance Officer of the Ghana Division of the company.

Mr Mark died on Wednesday, August 9 at the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, Canada after a short illness, a statement issued by the company and signed by Tony Aubynn, Corporate Manager Public Affairs and Social Development said.

The statement said Mr Mark who left behind a wife, three children and three grandchildren was scheduled to take up a new post at Golf Fields operations in Peru sometime in August this year. It said a book of condolence would be opened at the Gold Fields Ghana Corporate office at the Airport Residential Area on Monday, August 14. The company extended its condolence to the wife, children and entire family of the deceased.
