Chief donates concrete pillars for school block

Anansu (Ash), Jan. 4, GNA – Nana Osei Bempah, chief of Anansu in the Atwima District of Ashanti has donated concrete pillars worth about 1.2 million cedis towards the construction of the Anansu Junior Secondary School (JSS) block.

He has in addition promised to offer scholarships to two brilliant but needy students of the school.

Nana Bempah made the donation at the annual fund raising harvest of the town organised by the School Management Committee (SMC) and the Parent/Teacher Association (PTA) on New Year’s Day.

He commended the Atwima District Assembly for constructing quarters for the teachers in the school.

The chief appealed to the government for the extension of electricity from Angolo in the Western Region to Anansu. Mr Tweneboa Kodua, Assemblyman for the area commended the chief, elders, the SMC and PTA for raising funds for the construction of the school block.

He urged communities in the electoral area to emulate the Anansu community’s example to improve upon their standard of living. Five million cedis was realized at the harvest. 4 Jan. 04
