Nsunya (B/A), June 2, GNA – Nana Iddi Abu, Basare chief of the Techiman municipality has commended the Techiman municipal directorate of Ghana Health Services for its prompt response to an outbreak of Cerebro-Spinal Meningitis (CSM) at Nsunya, near Nsokone. The outbreak, which occurred in April, had claimed three lives – two males and a female – by the time it was reported to the Techiman municipal office of the Ministry of Health.

Making the commendation through Ghana New Agency, the chief said two out of three other patients admitted at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital had been discharged.

Nana Abu expressed appreciation for the director and staff of the Ministry of Health saying, “they put up their best and worked hard to save lives in the community”.

He urged other rural communities to report promptly of outbreaks of strange diseases to the Ministry of Health and desist from ascribing such diseases to witchcraft and the wrath of gods. 02 June 04
