Chief Commends Assembly

Coaltar (Eastern Region), 21 Oct. Barima Kwesi Owusu the second, chief of Coaltar, has commended the Suhum-Kraboa Coaltar district assembly for its contribution towards development projects in the area. He urged communities in the district to initiate development projects so that the assembly can come to their aid. Barima Owusu made the commendation at a fund raising harvest organised by the community to raise funds to procure a lawn mowing machine for the Coaltar Presbyterian senior secondary-technical school at the weekend. Besides the construction of a headmaster’s bungalow, four masters’ bungalows and procuring an electricity generating plant for the school, the district assembly is spending about 120 million cedis to build a hostel for the school, he said. Mr. Daniel Sakyi, chairman of the parent-teacher association, appealed to the citizens to assist in developing the area.
