Chief calls on the youth to support development activities

Kumasi, Oct.19, GNA – Nana Kow Akyen, Nfante chief of Dakwadwom a suburb of Kumasi, has called on the youth to support development of the community.

He said their contribution towards the development of the community would improve the living conditions of the people. Nana Akyen made the call when Nana Kobina Ofori-Abaka Mmrantehene and Madam Yaa Fosua, Mbetsiafohemaa of the community swore the oath of allegiance to him at Dakwadwom at the weekend. He said the absence of effective collaboration with the youth had resulted in unhealthy conditions and upsurge of social vices in the community.

Nana Akyen advised the two chiefs to refrain from undermining the integrity of the people but always consult opinion leaders for advice and guidance before setting their agenda in motion. He asked the residents to co-operate with them to create an atmosphere for peace, unity and development in the community. Nana Ofori-Abaka pledged to assist improve educational programmes and efficient sanitary conditions in the community.

Madam Fosua called on schoolgirls within the community to learn hard to become useful citizens in future for their families, community and the nation.
