Chief calls on feuding communities in Gomoa to broker peace

Gomoa-Ngyiresi (C/R), Aug. 24, GNA – The newly installed Ankobiahene of the Gomoa- Akyempim Traditional Area, Nana Kwame Awusi III has appealed to the chiefs and people of Gomoa- Ngyiresi, in the Central Region, to bury their differences and unite for the rapid development of the town. Nana Awusi who was addressing a large crowd of people during an outdoor ceremony to introduce him as Chief, also charged leaders of feuding communities to eschew litigation and develop a new and more progressive approach towards resolving conflicts.

Mr Fred Oscar Abban, Presiding Member of the Gomoa District Assembly, called on the traditional authorities to embark on educational campaign programmes on the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

He asked the chiefs to use the traditional festivals, to propagate the objectives of the National Health Insurance Scheme.
