Chief calls for up grading of Asanteman Secondary School

Adankwame (Ash), Oct. 12, GNA – Nana Dwomoh Aborampah, Nkosuohene of Adankwame near Barekese in the Atwima District, has called on the Asanteman Council to help upgrade the Asanteman Secondary School in Kumasi to befit its status.

Speaking to the GNA at Adankwame at the weekend, Nana Dwomoh Aborampah, an old student of the school, noted that institutions named after Asante Kings and Queen mothers like Opoku Ware, Prempeh College, Yaa Asantewaa Girls and the Afua Kobi Ampem Girls Secondary School, formerly Atwimaman Secondary School, had facilities that made them very attractive and congenial for studies.

He said it was regrettable that the school established by the Asante Youth Association (AYA) and which had produced a lot of academics including doctors, lawyers, engineers and politicians, had received very little attention from Asanteman.

Nana Dwomoh Aborampah urged the Kumasi Traditional Council, the Asanteman Council and the old students to contribute towards the development of the school to an appreciable level.
