Tepa (Ash), March 8, GNA- Nana Adusei Atwenewah Ampem II, Omanhene of the Tepa Traditional Area, has called for respect and understanding between traditional rulers and their people.
He said these two virtues were pre-requisite for the rapid development and transformation of the society. Nana Atwenewah Ampem made the call when 11 sub-chiefs in his traditional area swore the oath of allegiance to him at Tepa on Sunday. The occasion coincided with the inauguration of the Ahafo-Ano North District Queen Mothers Association.
He mentioned curses, gossips, insults and rivalry as some of the characteristics of women in his traditional area, which he described as counter-productive.
He advised the queenmothers to lead exemplary lives and let honesty, courage and humility be their hallmark in dealing with matters that might come to their courts for arbitration.
Nana Agyeiwaa Paamu II, the Queenmother of Tepa, thanked the traditional council for the honour done them and pledged their support for the development of the area.
Mr Akwasi Adu-Poku, the District Chief Executive, urged the people to register in their numbers when the voters’ registration exercise begins next week.
