Hwidiem (B/A) April 8, GNA- Osuodumgya Barima Kwame Bonsu II, Chief of Hwidiem in Brong Ahafo has called for peace before, during and after the December general elections.

Osuodumgya Bonsu deplored the current political terrain, which he said portrayed “political opponents” as enemies. “The trend does not augur well for the growth of democracy and must be condemned by all especially the leadership of the political parties”, he said.

He appealed to traditional authorities to uphold their primary duty of maintaining peace and order in their communities. The chief called on drivers to exercise extra care during the Easter festivities.

Osuodumgya Bonsu advised transport associations to enforce road safety regulations to supplement the efforts of law enforcement agencies and the courts to reduce accidents on the roads.

He appealed to the Ministry of Roads and Highways to erect speed control mechanisms, especially at accident-prone areas to reduce accidents. Osuodumgya Bonsu mentioned the Obengkrom-Nsuta stretch of the Sunyani-Kumasi highway, which he said had become a death trap.
